I. Hiking routes in Piekary Śląskie

· Szlak Husarii Polskiej (the Route of Polish Winged Cavalry) marked with red leads form Będzin to Krzanowice near Racibórz following the route along which the Polish army of King Jan III Sobieski marched towards Vienna in 1683. In the area of Piekary Śląskie the route runs through: Dąbrówka Wielka – Brzeziny – Bytom – Szarlej – Piekary Śląskie – Kozłowa Góra – Orzech.
· Szlak Powstańców Śląskich (the Route of the Silesian Insurgents) marked with blue shows places connected with the fights during the Silesian insurrections in the years 1919-1921. In the area of Piekary Ślaskie the route runs through: Bytom – the ‘Mario Wspomóż’ Chapel – Szarlej – Kopiec Wyzwolenia – Kamień – the Powstańców Housing Estate – Bobrowniki.
· Szlak Historii Górnictwa Górnośląskiego (the Route of the Upper-Silesian Mining History) marked with yellow connects places of mining tradition. In the area of Piekary Śląskie the route runs through: Siemianowice – Przełajka – Dąbrówka Wielka – Kamień – the Powstańców Housing Estate – Bobrowniki.
· Szlak Tysiąclecia Państwa Polskiego (the Route of the 1000th Anniversary of the Polish State Memorial Underground Tourist Route) from Bytom to Zawiercie; in the area of Piekary Śląskie the route runs through: Radzionków (Księża Góra) – Kopiec Wyzwolenia – Kozłowa Góra – las ‘Dioblina’ – Świerklaniec.

II. Bicycle routes

· Kopiec Wyzwolenia – ul. Jana Pawła II – ul. Bytomska – Kozłowa Góra (approx. 4.5 km);
· Municipal Centre of Sports and Recreation [MOSiR] (the Wieczorka Housing Estate) – las ‘Dioblina’ – towards lake in Świerklaniec (approx. 2.5.km);
· Planned route: Brzeziny Śląskie (the Antoniowiec Housing Estate) – Dabrówka Wielka – Przełajka – Brynica – Bąbrówka Wielka – the Powstańców Housing Estate – Namiarki – the Wieczorka Housing Estate (Municipal Centre of Sports and Recreation) (approx. 15 km).

III. Saint Jacob’s route
Piekary Śląskie lies on the planned Saint Jacob’s Route of Silesia and Moravia constituting a fragment of the international system of Saint Jacob’s routes leading to Santiago de Compostella.
